Diabetes is more common in humans than cats or other animals. The cause of diabetes is actually quite simple. Sugar, or glucose, is found in the blood. The level of blood sugar in the body or animal is controlled by the hormone insulin, which is produced by the pancreas. When the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, diabetes is to blame.

Symptoms of cat diabetes will vary. The most common symptoms include increased urine and increased thirst. Other symptoms of cat diabetes include loss of appetite, weight loss, and a poor coat. Increased thirst is easily detected, because you can easily see empty water containers throughout the day.

If you don't get diabetes cat treatment right away, the cat will eventually become inactive, vomit regularly, and eventually fall into a coma. On the other hand, if you get diabetes treatment on time, your cat will most likely live a normal and healthy life. Remember that treatment does not happen overnight - it takes time and dedication.

Cats suffering from diabetic cats must be fed at the same time every day. They must be prevented from coming out too. If your cat has diabetes, you should give him an injection of insulin once or twice or daily. After the vet examines your cat, it will tell you how many injections and how much insulin you need to give your cat.

Before you give your cat an insulin injection, you should always make sure he has food first. If he hasn't eaten and you still try, he can end up in hypoglycemic shock. This can also occur due to too much insulin. Hipo can be very dangerous, and must be avoided at all costs. If your cat has hypoglycemic shock and you are not around, he may die.

If you have to give insulin injections to your cat because of cat diabetes, you should always monitor them after you have given them. After your cat uses insulin for a period of time, your vet can reduce the amount of insulin. Even though he may have to keep using insulin for the rest of his life, he will lead a healthy life.
